Abstract
This chapter analyses the terminology planning in the language planning process that has been
developing in Galicia over the last fifty years. In addition to a historical and sociolinguistic introduction, the
normative framework of terminological development, terminological production (

), the role of institutions (

Gómez Clemente and Gómez
Guinovart 2025
) in the functions of terminological planning (research, standardisation, dissemination and
implementation, evaluation, updating and training) (
Auger 1986

Cabré 1999a
, Bhreatnach 2011) are analysed. The main objective is to provide
an overview of current Galician terminology and its planning.
